Manufacturer of Avacor

Global Vision Products, Inc. is the producer of the Avacor hair care system. The business was started on January 1, 1999 by Anthony Imbriolo. As stated in an article in Men's Health, September 2003, Imbriolo was sued by Upjohn, the makers of Rogaine, in 1987 for patent infringement. Imbriolo was accused of creating his own version of minoxidil and selling it under another name. Imbriolo stated that he was not making minoxidil but buying Rogaine and making the product from that. When asked in court to make minoxidil he could not. In 1995 Imbriolo was found in contempt of court and the judge fined him and made him pay Upjohn's attorney's fees. In 1996, Upjohn's patent ended and Imbriolo could make minoxidil without worrying about being sued. Global Vision was created and Avacor went on the market.
When the Avacor hair care system package arrives a study accompanies the products to add authenticity. However, the study is done by and paid for by Avacor creators. As stated on the wellness letter.com of UC Berkeley "...this study is meaningless, since it was so poorly designed, lacks details, and is unpublished." There are no other medical studies conducted using Avacor products so there is no medical proof that this is a warranted system that will grow hair.
The incorporation of Global Vision Products does not appear to sell any other products than the Avacor line specifically targeted to treat baldness or hair loss.
In the article in Men's health by Bill Gifford it states that Dr. David L. Gordon, the man on the infomercials, lost his medical license due to a fraud case involving false sonograms that were submitted to Medicaid. There was well over a $1 million worth of fraud. The state permanently revoked Dr. Gordon's license to practice medicine. He also spent time in Queensboro Correctional Facility in New York for Medicaid fraud.
